About Me

I'm a Full-Stack Software Engineer (Microservices, Backend, AWS, Web3, Mobile Apps) with experience in system architecture design, end-to-end product development, and founding early-stage start-ups.

I have extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices, APIs, and mobile applications, along with hands-on expertise in AWS infrastructure and DevOps practices.

I’ve also worked extensively on mobile apps, both with React Native/Expo and native, on various kinds of products (Social, Utility, Entertainment).

I also bring deep experience in blockchain and DeFi, having worked with EVM-compatible networks, Stellar, and Solana to build decentralized applications and protocol integrations.

Work Experiences

Contract Software Engineer | Backend, DevOps, iOS, Android at Indigo Dating App
January, 2025 - November, 2025 | NestJS, React Native, AWS

Built the mobile application for iOS and Android using React Native (Expo), implemented backend services with NestJS, and designed the cloud infrastructure on AWS. This included running backend services on EC2, using RDS MySQL as the primary database, storing user assets on S3, distributing media through CloudFront, and managing logs and metrics with CloudWatch. I also used AWS Lambda for background workers and asynchronous tasks, AWS Secrets Manager for securely handling credentials and environment configuration, and Amazon ElastiCache (Redis) to enable horizontal scaling for real-time messaging and Socket.IO communication across multiple EC2 instances.

Managed all technical, design, and operational aspects independently, continuously iterating and optimizing the product based on user feedback and analytics.

Founding Software Engineer | Microservices, Backend, Web3 at Arf Financial GmbH
July, 2020 - January, 2025 | Go, NestJS, PHP, AWS

My primary focus was designing and building microservices with Go Programming Language and Node.js microservices for blockchain integrations, powering the company’s cryptocurrency treasury management and B2B financial infrastructure. I worked extensively on scalable, event-driven backend systems that interacted with networks such as Stellar, EVM chains, and Solana, delivering high-reliability services for cross-border transactions.

My responsibilities expanded across multiple areas of software engineering, including architecting distributed systems, integrating blockchain rails, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of mission-critical services.

Throughout this period, I worked extensively with a wide range of infrastructure and DevOps tools, including AWS, Docker, HashiCorp Vault, Rancher, SonarCloud, Jenkins, GitHub Actions and New Relic. These tools were essential in ensuring secure deployments, optimizing system performance, enabling CI/CD, and maintaining visibility into production environments.

Founding Software Engineer | iOS at Sparkler Note Taking App
July, 2022 - January, 2023 | Swift

This was an application designed to help users take, find, and relate notes and memories to create a map of notes and their connections, making it easier to organize and recall information. Discontinued development due to a lack of investment.

During the development, I was responsible for building the iOS app using Swift (SwiftUI) and used GraphQL for networking.

Software Engineer | iOS at Sinemia
June, 2017 - July, 2019 | Swift

I’ve always been drawn to the fast-paced nature of startups, which led me to join Sinemia, a rapidly growing company that had recently expanded from Turkey to the USA.

At Sinemia, I had the opportunity to rebuild the iOS application by migrating it from Ionic to a fully native implementation. This was my first time owning a mobile app development process from the ground up. After delivering version 1, the project continued with a team of five developers.

Freelancer Software Engineer | iOS, Android at Faladdin
June, 2018 - January, 2019 | Swift, Kotlin

I developed social features for both Android and iOS apps. My role was building social features, where I used Socket.io for implementing real-time messaging.

I used Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android to build and integrate these features, ensuring seamless communication and a polished, intuitive experience across both platforms.

Software Developer | iOS at Manggis Information Systems
April, 2016 - November, 2016 | Objective-C

During my university education, I had my first professional working experience at Manggis Information Systems, a company that develops technology products for a wide range of clients. I was part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining iOS applications. All of the projects were written in Objective-C, with UIKit used for UI development.

This role provided me with valuable experience in mobile development and the opportunity to work on various client projects, enhancing my skills in both iOS development and team collaboration.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from İzmir Katip Çelebi University
2011 - 2017

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from İzmir Katip Çelebi University, where I had the opportunity to learn programming fundamentals using Java and PHP. During my studies, I gained practical experience by working as a trainee at multiple companies, developing projects using various programming languages, including PHP and Objective-C. In the later years of my education, I began working at Manggis Information Systems, an outsourcing technology provider, as an iOS application developer. The knowledge of Java and PHP that I gained during my university education greatly facilitated my ability to quickly learn other programming languages and platforms, including Android and the Laravel framework.
