Work Experiences

Founder & CEO at Indigo Dating App
January, 2025 - Present

Founded and fully developed Indigo, a dating application focused on providing a premium, high-quality matchmaking experience. Responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from concept and design to development, deployment, and maintenance.

Built the mobile application for iOS and Android using React Native (Expo), implemented backend services with NestJS, and managed cloud infrastructure on AWS. Developed features including real-time messaging, user discovery algorithms, and modern UX/UI design to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.

Handle all technical, design, and operational aspects independently, continuously iterating and optimizing the application based on user feedback and analytics.

Founding Software Engineer (Full Stack) at Arf Financial GmbH
July, 2020 - January, 2025

In 2020, I joined Arf Financial GmbH, a newly established Fintech startup, where I took on the responsibility of developing client-side mobile applications for iOS and Android. Using Swift (UIKit) for iOS and Kotlin for Android, I created sophisticated applications to support the company’s cryptocurrency remittance infrastructure. This role allowed me to design and implement advanced features tailored to the unique demands of cryptocurrency transactions.

As the company transitioned into a B2B services provider, my focus broadened significantly, enabling me to work across various aspects of software engineering. This shift provided the opportunity to engage with advanced technologies and blockchain, contributing to the development of scalable and innovative solutions aligned with the company’s evolving goals.

At this point, I also had the opportunity to work on various developments utilizing blockchain technologies, including Stellar, EVMs, and Solana. These experiences allowed me to deepen my expertise in decentralized systems and their integration into scalable, business-oriented solutions.

I also worked extensively with a wide array of tools and technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, HashiCorp Vault, Rancher, SonarCloud, Jenkins, and New Relic. These tools played a critical role in optimizing system performance, ensuring security, automating deployments, and monitoring application health in production environments.

Founding Software Engineer (Mobile Apps) at Sparkler
July, 2020 - January, 2021

In 2020, I co-founded a startup with former colleagues, focused on developing an application designed to help users take, find, and relate notes and memories. The project aimed to create a map of notes and their connections, making it easier to organize and recall information. The goal was to simplify the user experience to the point of sending messages, ensuring ease of use. However, due to a lack of investment, the development of the project was paused.

During the development, I was responsible for creating mobile applications using Swift for iOS. Additionally, we used GraphQL to query and manage the relationships between notes in the database. This approach allowed us to efficiently retrieve and manipulate complex relational data, improving the app's performance and flexibility.

Freelancer Software Engineer (Mobile Apps) at Faladdin
June, 2018 - January, 2021

In 2018, I worked at Faladdin as a freelancer, where I developed several side applications and extensions for both Android and iOS platforms. The project was focused on enhancing a social-dating application, where I primarily worked on implementing real-time messaging and adding various other features to improve the overall user experience. I used Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android to build and integrate these features, ensuring seamless communication and a polished, intuitive experience across both platforms.

Software Engineer (iOS) at Sinemia
June, 2017 - July, 2019

In 2017, I had the opportunity to join the rapidly growing startup Sinemia, which had recently expanded its operations from Turkey to the USA. I was part of the team responsible for developing the Sinemia mobile application from scratch, using Swift and UIKit for UI design. After Sinemia faced challenges competing in the U.S. market, it shifted its focus to become a whitelabel application provider, offering development and maintenance services for various movie theater subscription platforms, such as Showcase Cinemas and Studio Movie Grill.

During my time at Sinemia, I progressed from an iOS Developer to Mobile Application Development Team Lead at SubGen, where I continued to lead the development of mobile solutions for clients in the entertainment industry.

Software Engineer (iOS) at ModelClub
November, 2016 - July, 2017

In 2016, I graduated from university and moved to Istanbul, where I began my professional career at GD Holding, a company developing a dating application called ModelClub. I was responsible for developing and maintaining the iOS application for ModelClub, working with Objective-C and pure Objective-C code for UI development. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with new technologies, such as real-time messaging and video calls, which were implemented for the first time in the project.

The system utilized Parse Server for networking, but we faced significant challenges when Parse shut down its operations after being acquired by Facebook. Despite this, I put in good work to adapt the application and maintain its functionality, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Software Developer (iOS) at Manggis Information Systems
April, 2016 - November, 2016

In 2016, during my university education, I had my first full-time job at Manggis Information Systems, a company that develops server-side, client-side, and mobile applications for a wide range of clients. I was part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining multiple mobile applications. All of the projects were written in Objective-C, with UIKit used for UI development. This role provided me with valuable experience in mobile development and the opportunity to work on various client projects, enhancing my skills in both iOS development and team collaboration.

Education

Bachelor of Computer Science from İzmir Katip Çelebi University
2010 - 2016

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from İzmir Katip Çelebi University, where I had the opportunity to learn programming fundamentals using Java and PHP. During my studies, I gained practical experience by working as a trainee at multiple companies, developing projects using various programming languages, including PHP and Objective-C. In the later years of my education, I began working at Manggis Information Systems, an outsourcing technology provider, as an iOS application developer. The knowledge of Java and PHP that I gained during my university education greatly facilitated my ability to quickly learn other programming languages and platforms, including Android and the Laravel framework.
